YORKSHIRE SCULPTURE PARK, WEST BRETTON

As one of the regular artist-educators at Yorkshire Sculpture Park, my work has involved delivering bespoke "Outdoor Sculpture Building" workshops, "WalkTalkMakes" (previously "Enhanced Tours") and "Viewpoint Tours" as part of the core YSP Formal Learning Programme, where I work with both primary, secondary and FE classes. These sessions with a strong emphasis on active learning methods are inspired by permanent and temporary artworks in the outdoor collection as well as the changing exhibitions in the indoor galleries. I also deliver bespoke "Exploring Photography" half-day (outdoor only) and full-day (outdoor and indoor) sessions. Likewise, I have research, co-planned and delivered brief-specific art workshops such as "Surreal Structures" (architecture themed) and "Behind the Mask"* (identity, self-expression, political art).

I have also delivered taster workshops demonstrating best practice for Teachers CPD Event days, Staff Away Days and also sessions for teacher-training students.

I have also researched, designed and delivered creative workshops for the Family Learning Programme. To date, these have included, "Shape and Colour of Light" inspired by "Occasional Geometries: Rana Begum Curates the Arts Council Collection" exhibition at Longside Gallery and YSP Learning building; and also, "Pic n Mix Photography: Portraits!" inspired by "Alfredo Jaar: The Garden of Good and Evil" and "Revolts and Revolutions" exhibitions; and other outdoor works. I have also planned outdoor creative activities for delivering the ArtCart events outdoors, inspired by the "In My Shoes: Art and the Self Since the 1990s -An Arts Council Touring Exhibition" and also "Katrina Palmer: The Coffin Jump" (14-18 NOW).
